"The destiny of nations lies far more in the hands of women, the mothers, than in the possessors of power, or those of innovators who for the most part do not understand themselves. We must cultivate women, who are the educators of the human race, else the new generation cannot accomplish its task."

Sarah Smile

I needed a new photo for the cover of "Sarah's Dress" because I just wasn't happy with the last group of photos I took of that dress because they all looked too washed out. As much as I really love soft and muted colors I have to admit they are very difficult to photograph and the pictures just don't due the dress justice. So, I decided to use this version of the dress instead using some of Michael Miller's "Strawberry Tea Party" and I think these pictures turned out much better. "Sarah" is such a pretty little dress and perfect for Spring and Summer and if you add my "Grace's Pinafore" to it you can have even more fun by adding another piece and creating a different look. I even made Abby a matching purse for carrying all things important like some of her furry friends. "Sarah's Dress" will be arriving in my shop along with "Tess's Jumper" any day now so keep a close watch for news of their arrival.

Sarah's Dress Preview

Just a little something I've been working on. . . This is "Sarah". You've seen this dress paired up with my "Grace's Pinafore" and now I am finally getting around to completing the pattern for the dress. I adore this dress so simple, yet stunning! Abby and I took full advantage of today and went out to snap some photos. This weather is just crazy today it's almost 80 degrees and two days ago it was snowing! Go figure . . . the top two photos are of Sarah all on her own and the bottom photos show Sarah with Grace. The perfect combo in my opinion. I really love these two pieces and think they would be great additions to any little girls wardrobe this summer. I will be releasing "Sarah" later this Spring. Not to worry, it will be here before you know it!

What A Week It's Been!

This past week has been such a whirlwind. I can hardly believe it. My e-mail box has just been overflowing with wonderful email from so many of you ... Thank You! Not to mention my phone has been ringing a lot more than normal and I have had so much fun chatting with so many sweet moms and grandmas and the orders ... all I can say about that is "WOW!" But even with all the chaos I still managed to come up with a new dress and pinafore. The little dress is a classic sundress with a pretty neckline, very full skirt with a ruffle and buttons all the way down the back of the dress. 12 to be exact! This dress is going to be called "Sarah" and it looks perfect on it's own or paired up with this adorable little pinafore which is going to be called "Grace". Just think of how much fun this will be to create different pinafores to go over the same dress or different dresses to create many different looks. Abby and I went to Yorktown today to go out for a girls day with lunch at one of our favorite spots "The Carrot Tree" and then afterwards Abby had an absolute blast running and skipping, spinning and catching butterflies. I on the other hand just had fun snapping picture after picture of her. Oh, to be 7 again!
